A more inclusive message
Before: “Finally on the property ladder! Your real life starts now.”
After: “Congratulations on the new place. I hope it soon has your favourite mug in the right cupboard and a corner that feels like yours.”
The second message celebrates settling in without ranking housing choices.
Writing a card for a neighbour
Keep it welcoming and light. Offer local knowledge without requesting personal details. If someone hosted you while you were between homes, a host thank-you can acknowledge that kindness.
